TobyMac San Antonio Concert reviews
Robert Earl shone like the Lone Star!
Here is the rearranged version of the review with a few words switched:
1. Wonderful solos from Mr. Muse, showcasing some of the best contemporary lap steel, dobro, and steel to be heard today.
2. A great job was done by Tom and Bill holding down the rhythm effortlessly, as always!
3. The National itself is a beautifully-preserved 1920's-era theater that provided a venue with personality and warmth.
4. The sound, while somewhat distorted, was okay. I was disappointed and confused as I had anticipated crisper audio from the National's unique higher-end gear.
5. A truly enjoyable performance by TobyMac and his great band in support.
6. A great set list featured a nice cross-section of tunes, including early ("Gringo Honeymoon"), middle ("I Gotta Go"), and recent ("Five Pound Bass") favorites for everyone to sing along to.
7. All in all, everyone had a blast, including TobyMac, and the incredible emotional peak was reached during the encore of "I Know You Rider" merged with the Dead's rendition of "Guilty Selfish Crime." The road truly does go on forever.
